Debut Episode 1
Yuri (百合) is a human girl from Japan who lives in the Elf World as an exchange student, and is this story's protagonist.
Appearance
Yuri has black hair that is about shoulder length, which she often puts into a ponytail, and her eyes are grey. She has fair skin, and a 95 cm bust, H-cup in Japanese bra size. At school, she wears a standard Japanese school uniform with a blazer and skirt, but she is often seen in other outfits outside of school. In spite of her large chest size, she's the least stacked among the other characters introduced thus far.
Personality
She's a cheery and often quite forward student, who's got a hard time learning other people's boundaries, as her obsession with games and the Mediaeval setting of the elven world led her to fondle her friends' ears without consent.
After talking with Funou, she's learned to not see elves not quite the same as human girls, but rather as a separate gender. As she has come to a better understanding of elves' sexuality, she's begun to see them in a more romantic light. After some time, she has trouble keeping her desires in check, and begins developing a paranoia that her friends will see her unfavourably.
However, after her friends become more comfortable around her, she's no longer so anxious about spending time with them.
History
She travels to the Elf World, after studying abroad has become normalised. Shortly after arriving, she meets an honour student by the name of Mara, who has taken it upon herself to help her learn about the elven world and integrate at school. She also gets friendly advice from Funou, the dormitory mother who manages their dorm. A month passes with nothing out of the ordinary happening. But then she befriends Tansho, a fellow classmate, while their relationship gets off to a bit of a rocky start they eventually get closer. Over the school year she gets closer to her classmates, and at one point feelings start to arise between the three.
As a new year starts they meet Umanami, Funou’s daughter and events start to spiral out of control as Umanami pushes them to make more drastic decisions indirectly. This is made clearer when all five visit a hot spring and they try to make Yuri tell them who she likes the most. She doesn’t, but in the following weeks, deepens her relationship with them all in untraditional ways, through accidents and more. After a New Year’s Eve together with Funou, and the day afterwards with Umanami in town she gets much closer to them. Said closeness makes Mara jealous and she confesses to Yuri that she also wants closeness; they share their first kiss with one another.
Relationships
Mara
Upon arrival, Yuri and Mara became close friends, reminiscent of how 2 girls in the human world would act with one another. This form of friendship was strengthened by Mara, as she was the first elf that helped Yuri learn about the other world. Yuri comments that she thinks that Mara is very insensitive and specific at times while she also sees Mara’s embarrassing moments as natural responses. Yuri’s giving her the benefit of the doubt because they’re friends, and she doesn't want to consider Mara a romantic interest. Therefore she overlooks the many hints of intimacy Mara and her elf body makes towards Yuri.
After Yuri speaks with Funou and Tansho, she begins to realise that Mara may see her in a romantic way. During Christmas, Yuri glosses over Mara expressing jealousy at her special favour for Tansho. Mara, feeling frustrated at being friend-zoned, gets drunk and chews out Yuri in a drunken fervour. Yuri’s surprised at Mara being drunk, but before things got out of hand, Mara got sick, so Yuri doesn’t voice a proper response to Mara’s forwardness.
However Yuri later finds some discarded magazines while walking around, and realises that she gets excited by some elves who resemble Mara and Tansho, igniting her interest in them and removing her prior more modest opinion on how to feel about elves. These feelings grow during Yuri, Mara and Tansho visit to the local hot spring, the event with the see through glasses and Yuri’s accident with Mara during measuring day.
Their feelings for one another, not yet accepted by the other, these feelings climax when Mara catches Yuri reading one of her many secret magazines and finally gives voice to her feelings. Yuri acknowledges that she also wants to be closer with Mara. They then give their very first kiss to one another.
Tansho
Yuri firstly thought of Tansho as an emotionally fierce classmate, as seen through Yuri’s reactions towards her when Tansho gets upset or jealous of Mara. But was quickly shaken into changing her opinion on the elf, as an accident involving her pad falling out and Tansho trying to intimidate her into secrecy led for Yuri to defuse the situation by pulling a fast one on Tansho’s ears. After this she starts to see right through Tansho’s tough facade.
As Yuri explores more of the elf world she runs into Tansho on multiple occasions outside of school, here Yuri asks her about how elves see humans and later gives suggestions to help fix Tansho’s dimensional issues. A bond between them grows, and soon Yuri has made herself a friend, and Tansho a love interest by accident.
Christmas arrives and as Yuri doesn’t want to crush Tansho’s belief in Santa she of course dresses up and gives her a gift during the night. It is during this winter that we see the 2 hang out more and more often, all from Tansho giving her a valentine gift to visiting the hot springs together with Mara
It is during the spring that their relationship makes a jump as Yuri accepts her inner feelings towards elves in general, meaning she now begins to see Tansho (And Mara) as more than just friends. During New Year’s Eve Yuri’s inner feelings bloom as she gives Tansho a private message, starting a new face to their ‘friendship’.
Funou
Yuri at first had a student & advisor relationship with Funou, advising the young teen human about many things, one of the more important ideas was when plants the idea in Yuri’s head that elves aren’t like human women, and they’re more open to the idea of being in a relationship. Their relationship develops during Christmas as after Yuri had nearly been assaulted by a drunken Mara, Yuri gets her revenge on Funou, the wine supplier. She has her wear a santa costume, a few sizes too small as punishment.
However during the start of the next school year. Yuri catches Funou wearing her daughter’s new school uniform. Funou hurriedly tries to explain the situation, but when Yuri teases that she’ll exploit the situation, Funou quickly pushes her outside. Yuri contemplates that perhaps she crossed a line. Later when Yuri is reading a magazine about elves, she contemplates Funou’s advice, and realises that she does like elves.
Yuri’s view on Funou escalates further, as Funou’s daughter Umanami reveals Funou’s desires for Yuri. Umanami plays matchmaker to try and get her mother and Yuri together, Yuri’s made even more aware of Funou’s feelings during their trip to the Elf Ocean where Yuri, Umanami and AV catch Funou in a compromising situation, making Yuri surprised at the sight of Funou’s feelings for her.
Yuri’s growing feelings towards elves accumulate on New Year’s Eve when she gets together with Tansho and also Funou, who’s decided to take care of her during said celebration. Yuri thanks her with new found closeness, her forwardness makes Funou’s body get over past trauma, but unfortunately Yuri leaves the event unfinished as she words her closeness as more of a thanks than a declaration of her feelings for Funou.
Umanami
At first Umanami comes across as a forceful, coercive person that's hard to refuse in Yuri’s eyes, which is best seen during their first meeting when Umanami casually threatens her with violence if she makes her mother unhappy. Yuri is weirdly flattered, yet terrified. Her forwardness continues throughout the winter and spring, where she can be seen, during their hot spring visit, promoting and escalating an uncomfortable situation for Yuri, and also when she invites her to the Elf Ocean with her mother. Yuri plays along, even if she’s uncomfortable.
After succeeding in bringing Yuri along, Umanami is happy to brag about her Yuri-mama to AV-san, although she glosses over that they technically aren’t really together. Yuri seems excited to see everyone in swimsuits. Further one-sided development happens during New Year’s Eve where Umanami catches Yuri and Funou having fun.
However Yuri’s opinion on Umanami changes after New Year’s Eve, she confronts Umanami and tells her that she sees Umanami as too forceful, and has actually been uncomfortably agreeing to hang out with her. She gets sad, but Yuri comforts her after realising she’s just a sweet young elf, and isn’t very good at expressing her emotions. Yuri gives Umanami something to cheer her up, before they get kicked out of the store.
AV
Initially Yuri only saw AV-san as an AV actress. When they meet each other for the first time Yuri has grown into a giant fan of AV-san, which is clearly seen through her extreme blushing when AV-san is forward with her. Later at the beach, Yuri learns of AV-san’s connection to Funou and Umanami, now a little more nervous as she’s afraid that her secret magazine collection might leak.
Yuri opens up more to AV-san during her later visit on New Year’s Eve where she agrees to have AV-san try out her skills. Happy with the result Yuri is left confused as AV-san left as quickly as she arrived.
